Lehmen –| Schwägalp

This route is demanding and takes you through the snowy Böhlwald forest. You will be able to see the northern part of the Säntis massif. Continue the hike towards Chammhalden. On weekends, when the weather is good, the hut here is staffed. Behind the so-called Kamm, indicating the border between Appenzell Innerrhoden and Ausserrhoden, you will see Schwägalp. Soon after you will have reached your destination. To get back, you can take a Bus to Urnäsch and then a train back to Appenzell.

Notice: The route is sometimes, especially on weekends, prepared and groomed as a winter hike. However, snowshoes are still recommended.
