Association

The aim of Ostschweiz Tourism is:

  • the promotion of tourism in Eastern Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein;
  • representing the interests of the tourism sector in Eastern Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein at national level;
  • promoting cooperation between tourism organisations in Eastern Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein, as well as with national organisations.

Executive Board

The Executive Board comprises, by virtue of their office, the presidents of the cantonal tourism organisations, the destinations within the canton of St.Gallen, and a representative from Liechtenstein Tourism:

Responsibilities

Ostschweiz Tourism (OST for short) covers the cantons of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Appenzell Innerrhoden, Glarus, St.Gallen, Schaffhausen, Thurgau and the Principality of Liechtenstein. It takes care of the following tasks on behalf of its members.

Collective members

The collective members of Ostschweiz Tourism are the tourist destinations within the region of Eastern Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein.

Donors

The donors of Ostschweiz Tourism include local tourism organisations, local authorities or associations of local authorities, businesses in the tourism, hospitality and hotel sectors and their trade associations, public transport operators, service providers, business organisations and other enterprises.

Association tasks Operational management Chairing the OST Managing Directors’ Conference, approving the agenda, chairing the meeting and setting the agenda.
Association tasks Advocacy Seat on the committees, RDK, ST and STV. Representation of the interests of Eastern Switzerland for discussion at the regular OST Executive Committee meeting.
Association tasks IT Maintenance of systems for managing websites, points of interest (master data) and customer data, as well as email hosting and cloud services for data storage.
Administration Executive Board meeting Preparation, reporting, follow-up work.
Administration Managing Directors' Conference Preparation, reporting, follow-up work.
Administration Annual General Meeting Preparation, sending invitations, preparing annual reports, distributing annual reports, protocol management, follow-up work.
Administration Accountant Invoicing for collective and supporting members & accounts receivable management.
Checking and approving invoices (in accordance with the approved budget). Submitting payment requests to the trustee.
Administration Actuary Managing and updating members’ addresses and contact details (new members / departing members).
Administration Accounting / Payroll Accounting, payroll.
Administration Financial statements / Budget Prepare the provisional annual financial statements with the trustee, draw up the AVOR budget for the Executive Board, assist with the audit and prepare the audit report.
Administration Administrative work CI/CD, postal mail, document archiving, general secretarial inquiries.
Initiatives Coordination Attending meetings of committees dealing with issues affecting the whole of Eastern Switzerland, where, for example, specialist expertise in the field of digitalisation is required.
Initiatives Implementation Fundraising, project planning and project management.
Initiatives Support Manage pending issues, prepare work plans for cross-DMO projects.
