Appenzell –| Wasserauen

A flat way along a stream through the idyllic landscape of Appenzell leads you to Wasserauen. Until Weissbad you will follow the Sitter Stream. The Weissbach, Brüelbach and Schwendebach Streams confluence into the Sitter Stream. The Schwendebach Stream will guide you to Wasserauen. Listen to the murmur of the streams and pay attention to the spectacular ice formations along the bank. You will come across wonderful snow-covered trees. To get back to Appenzell you can take the Appenzeller Bahnen train or go back on foot. You could even take a cable car up to the Ebenalp mountain before heading back.
 

Tip: The hike can be shortened; everywhere where there is either a bus stop or train stop from the Appenzeller Bahnen (Appenzeller Railways).
