Along the most beautiful panoramic ridge

The first few metres up the Hoher Kasten are easily accessible by cable car. Once you have reached the top, we recommend a stop at the Alpine Garden and a warm-up run on the spectacular Europa Rundweg Circular Trail. An impressive ridge walk with constant ascents and descents lies ahead of you until you reach the Berggasthaus Staubern (mountain inn). Enjoy the Alpstein view, the profound views into the Rhine valley and the far-reaching views into the Swiss and Austrian Alps. On this section of the trail, you will also follow the geological hiking trail. Thematic panels provide a direct reference to the surroundings and explain the geology in a simple and comprehensible way. After the first half of the trail, treat yourself to a snack at the Berggasthaus Staubern (mountain inn). The descent to Rainhütten Alp is gentle and it is definitely worth visiting the alpine cheese dairy here to buy a piece of Rainhütten cheese. The hiking trail continues through the forest above the Sämtisersee Lake and across the meadows of Alp Soll to the Berggasthaus Ruhesitz (mountain inn). You can complete the last section to Brülisau on foot or take a scooter.
