These letter structures can be up to five metres high, but they still describe the cube. When looking at the Z-cube, you will notice that the shaft of the letter connecting the upper and lower crossbars is ‘incorrect’: instead of running from the top right to the bottom left, it connects the top left with the bottom right. The Z is therefore drawn as a mirror image. However, if you look through the sculpture at the opposite side of the cube, you can see the letter Z in the correct way. The front of the cube thus shows the back of the letter, the letter is written on the inside of the cube, and only when you stand in the centre of the cube does the sign make sense.
