The Sardona Tectonic Arena offers a unique insight into the history of the formation of the alpine mountains and valleys.

Nowhere in the world are the witnesses of mountain formation as monumental and vivid as in the border area of the cantons of Glarus, Graubünden and St. Gallen.

The original landscape in the Sardona World Heritage Site is the ideal habitat for a diverse flora and fauna. The oldest resettled ibex colony in Switzerland is located here. In the Sardona tectonic arena, bearded vultures were also released back into the wild for the first time in the Northern Alps.
