Trutmann Vineyard
The lateral winegrower Anton Trutmann leases his first vineyard in 1983 (18 acres). 15 years later, he and a business partner are already cultivating 9 hectares of vines, spread over the entire mountain slope above Stein am Rhein. His own vineyard has grown to 2 ha. The vineyards are planted with: Pinot Noir, Riesling-Sylvaner (40-year-old and more) and Chardonnay.
Since his death in 2010, Anna Trutmann has continued to manage and expand the vineyard. She placed increasing emphasis on a sustainable, ecological orientation.
Turn of the century 2020: Alexander, a trained winemaker, and Adrian, a lawyer, take over the business. In 2021, we will plant a small vineyard with the old Räuschling grape variety in the eco hotspot Bächli, a paradise and another world between Säntis and Hohentwiel.
