Trachtenschneiderin

Bernadette Nef has been making countless pieces of women's traditional costume for around 34 years. Traditional costumes were already made from her grandmother's hand. So it came about that Bernadette Nef practiced sewing together with her grandmother in her childhood. At the age of 16, she trained as a women's dressmaker. This was then the basis for her current skills. Little by little, she learned the peculiarities for the production of traditional costumes. At the age of 19, she practiced the profession of a dressmaker and traditional costume seamstress for 6 years. Today she produces both weekday costumes and festive costumes, including the elaborate slippers. She is one of the few traditional costume dressmakers in the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden.
