Theater an der Grenze
The Theater an der Grenze in Kreuzlingen is run by the association of the same name and annually performs 15 to 20 productions from the fields of theatre, cabaret, music and literature.
The association was founded in 1968 by theatre lover Norman Elrod with the intention of realising professional theatre performances. However, the hoped-for crowd fell short of expectations, which is why the theatre was converted into a guest performance in 1971.
Initially, the theatre was only supported by private patrons, but from the 1970s onwards, the city of Kreuzlingen provided a small subsidy, which was later increased and finally topped up by cantonal contributions.
