Textilmuseum Sorntal
A former spinning mill building dating from 1850 was renovated in 1994 and now houses the Textilmuseum Sorntal.
The Sorntal Textile Museum is located in a former factory building dating from 1850 and serves as a “center for experiencing the origins of textiles.” It offers visitors a glimpse into the working world of the past. The exhibition features fully operational textile machines from the early days of industrialization through the modern era, as well as wooden tools used in cottage industries.
Spanning 900 square meters of exhibition space, visitors can also discover countless fabric sample books, technical and business records, bobbin wheels, spinning wheels, yarn reels, flax-processing tools, hand looms, and a Jacquard loom.
