Stefan Manser

Stefan Manser paints what has shaped him since his childhood. Growing up on a farm in Eggerstanden as the youngest of three children, nature, landscape, animals, tradition and customs have always been part of his life. Alpine pastures, stobete, cattle show, Corpus Christi, Landsgemeinde were and are fixed dates in his agenda. Even as a child, he drew alpine processions with chalk on the silo and the road in front of the farm. He always carried a sheet of paper and a pen with him.

Stefan Manser does not describe himself as an artist. What he does is pure craftsmanship. Craft that begins with choosing the board and ends with the fire of the Bunsen burner. It is the craft of a farmer's boy from Eggerstanden, who loves the tradition of his homeland so much and implements it in his very own way.
