Standing Figure by Herbert Albrecht

Albrecht's work is concerned with the theme of the figure and its transformation through different views. The experience of Cubism, as well as that of classical and pre-classical sculpture, plays an important role for him here, as can be seen in individual pieces. Although Albrecht started with blocks and cubes, he has since moved away from this position. From elementary body landscapes with differentiated, interlocking forms, which sometimes take on a vegetative character and obey an intricate lighting design.
