Siessenweiher
The Siessenweiher is considered an amphibian and reptile reserve
The pond in the Siessen, which was built around 1860, also dates from the beginnings of industrialisation. Together with the Oberfeldweiher and the Büechliberg pond, the hydropower generated by the Bürgner Bach was used for the weaving mill in the village of Eschenbach, which was put into operation in 1862. This operation was discontinued in 1956.
Today, the Siessenweiher is considered an amphibian and reptile reserve of national importance and, like the Oberfeldweiher, is owned by the municipality of Eschenbach.
