Schloss Kefikon
First mentioned in a document in 1241, Kefikon Castle belonged to the fiefs of Reichenau Abbey until 1798. Important personalities such as Hans Konrad Escher von der Linth, builder of the Linth Canal, shaped the property. In 1906, the castle was acquired by August Bach for the foundation of a country education home. After a fire in 1929, a renovation took place, during which, among other things, the mansard roof and the stepped gable of the residential tower were created. Today, Kefikon Castle is best known as the location of the Schloss Kefikon private school, which combines over 100 years of tradition. The diverse grounds with the old castle, schoolhouse, park, swimming pool, Nufa play hill and the largest natural pond in Switzerland offer families, school classes and visitors exciting insights into history, nature and education.
