Schloss Gachnang

Gachnang Castle combines baroque architecture, magnificent interiors and historical elements such as the 13th-century keep. Versatile use for weddings, celebrations, company events and exhibitions.

Originally built as a moated castle, Gachnang Castle was rebuilt by the monastery in 1767. The 13th-century keep was encased in residential buildings in the 16th and 17th centuries. Significant additions and conversions were made in 1741 and after the fire in 1929 with a new stepped gable. In 1916, the castle was passed on to the Müller brothers, who ran a cider house in it. Magnificent portal grilles from the 18th and 19th centuries and a fountain from the second half of the 18th century characterize the property. Inside are the Escher Room with tapestry imitations, a picture room with oil panneaux as well as white and painted stoves, including those by Rudolf Kuhn in Rieden. Elegant interiors and a spacious outdoor area make the castle usable for weddings, birthday parties, company events and cultural events such as exhibitions, harmoniously combining historical atmosphere and modern use.
