Since 1870, the large Schaffhausen Holzbad has been putting its bow in the
Rhine current under the Munot. Responsible for the construction of the largest
preserved box bath in Switzerland (it is even said to be the oldest river bathing facility
Europe) was city architect Johann Gottfried Meyer. Due to the damming of the
power plant, the water level in the pool is constant. However, swimmers should
note that the current of the Rhine flows faster with a larger amount of water
becomes.
