Rathausbrunnen
The town hall fountain in Arbon is part of the impressive staircase in front of the Old Town Hall, which was built in 1937. The semi-circular, low fountain basin was added in 1944 and blends harmoniously into the architecture of the double-flight staircase.
In the centre of the fountain stands a group of bronze figures on a slightly raised platform: two children playing, lively and detailed by the sculptor Ernst Heller from Eglisau (1894-1972). The scene gives the fountain a playful, almost poetic touch and forms an exciting contrast to the clear, symmetrical layout.
