Pfeff ond Lischt Weeg
An adventure trail for the whole family with a chaos pendulum, wobbly footbridge, giant xylophone, tube telephone and many other sensory experiences!
The family hike on the easy and varied "Pfeff ond Lischt Weeg" from the destination in Appenzell to the bus stop Sammelplatz or vice versa promises not only fantastic views of the Appenzell hills and the Alpstein but also lasting sensory experiences at thirteen specifically marked stations. The order of the stations and the direction in which they are walked is not important; you can start at any of the four starting points. "Pfeff ond Lischt" is the motto for an adventure trail that brings scientific topics closer to young and old in a smart and cunning way. Along the way, it gives you an insight into the formation of the Nagelfluh (conglomerate) ribbed landscape typical for the region as well as the water supply in remote areas.
Both Appenzell and the Sammelplatz stop are well connected to the public transport network and the starting points Schlatt and Saul can be reached comfortably by PubliCar (call bus). On the way, you can barbecue at three campfire sites and stop for a bite to eat at the Gasthaus Bären Schlatt. Two more restaurants, Anker Unterschlatt and Gasthaus Leimensteig, can be reached in an additional 20-minute loop.
Places along the route
