Natural jewel Seebachtal

The Seebachtal consists of three small lakes: Hüttwilersee, Nussbaumersee and Hasensee are close together. The valley is a Thurgau island of biodiversity. That wasn't always the case. Due to the draining of the shore areas during the cultivation battle in the Second World War, much of the species-rich habitat was lost. The Seebachtal Foundation for the Protection of the Three Lakes ended the destruction. After extensive renaturation, endangered amphibians such as tree frogs and newts returned. But dragonflies, beavers, waterfowl and other rare plants and animals also live in the lakes, surrounding ponds, streams or fens. Winding paths lead over footbridges, past viewing platforms and along the shores and invite you to discover and linger. The lake accesses, most of which are free of charge, entice you to swim and also delight you to take a break and barbecue outside the bathing season. The obstacle-free Route 918 is suitable for wheelchairs and prams. Even the pile dwellers liked the Inseli in Lake Nussbaumersee. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
