Museum im Turmhof
The tower courtyard from the 13th century is one of the most striking historical buildings on the Untersee. It is the landmark of Steckborn. In the Turmhof there is a museum whose exhibition shows the culture and history of the underwater area.
6,000 years of history of Steckborn and its surroundings can be discovered in the museum on three floors, starting with the pile dwellers and from the Romans and Alemanni to modern times. Special emphasis is placed on Steckborn stove making, lace making and the sewing machine museum. Every year there are various special or temporary exhibitions.
The museum has a rich collection of Steckborn kiln ceramics from the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as picture collections by Steckborn artists.
