Max Burkhardt Haus – Ferien im Baudenkmal
The Max Burkhardt House in Arbon is a house designed by the Swiss decorative painter and photographer Max Burkhardt.
Max Burkhardt (1876-1957) originally came from Aarau, but settled in Arbon after training as a decorative and artistic painter at the School of Arts and Crafts in Zurich, Munich and Paris. The Sunflower House, which he had built in the years 1904-1910 according to his own design, is a total work of art in its unity of architecture, interior design and artistic creation. The house served him, his wife and three children as a home and art studio until the end of his life.
The Max Burkhardt Haus offers space for 2 people in the 2-room apartment on the first floor. A large balcony with a view of the garden also belongs to the apartment.
