Kunstgewerbe Dörig

Roger's nostalgic Büdeli at Appenzell Castle is probably the most unmodern and therefore the most homely workshop in the Appenzell region. Everything is as it used to be, just like in the days of his grandfather Hans Fuchs. Even as a boy, Roger often watched him and was allowed to try it out a bit, and as a young man he learned his artistic craft. It is deeply rooted in the Appenzell tradition of customs. Roger likes to carefully maintain the traditional. But he is also open to new things and likes to experiment with creative reinterpretations of the old craft. You don't necessarily have to be a dairyman to enjoy finely crafted ornaments in silver, brass, nickel silver or even gold! His work should remain rooted in tradition, but Roger also wants to dare to be creative and modern with the old production technique. Combine the alpine with design. In 1994, Roger was allowed to take over the Sennensattler-Büdeli from his grandfather and is now the fourth generation to run it. He is pleased that, with more than 125 years under its belt, it is now one of the most traditional and now also best-known Appenzell workshops of the alpine dairyman's trade. And always dares to try new things.
