The fountain at the Haus zum Komitee in Weinfelden is a reminder of the versatile use of historic village fountains and their importance for the community.
Originally, the well was used to supply the population with spring water from the Ottenberg. At the same time, the villagers used it as a cattle trough, washing place and social meeting place. It was only later that the fountain acquired a special historical significance due to its location at the historic Haus zum Komitee and is now valued as part of Weinfelden's cultural heritage.
