Klingenzell
The hamlet of Klingenzell, located high above the Untersee, is appreciated because of the famous pilgrimage chapel, but also because of the beautiful view.
In Klingenzell is the pilgrimage church of Klingenzell, which is known far beyond the region as a place of pilgrimage, but also because of its beautiful location high above the Untersee. The idyllic Landgasthof Klingenzellerhof, which is located right next door, is also very popular.
With a 10-minute walk from the chapel you can also reach the Hochwacht viewpoint, which offers an impressive view of the Untersee area. The predestined location of the Hochwacht has been used for centuries to keep an eye out in all directions in case of danger. As a concrete witness, a bunker reminds us of the World War II years. The barbecue area and the benches are used by families.
With the Klingenzell-Hochwacht circular hiking trail, which is signposted in green from Mammern station, these two points can be combined with a hike of just under two hours and with an extremely promising view.
