Klangwald Bazenheid – a unique place for music, art and sound in the Toggenburg region
Visitors to Klangwald Bazenheid discover a special cultural venue in the Toggenburg region of Switzerland. Located in a former carpentry workshop in Bazenheid, Klangwald brings together music, art, sound and community in a unique setting. At the same time, Klangwald has the character of a cozy living room – a personal and welcoming place where people can feel at home, linger and connect with others.
Klangwald is more than just an event venue. It features unique musical instruments and sound sculptures that invite visitors to marvel, explore and – at selected events – play and experience the instruments themselves. Various artists have created special sound objects, including Beat Weyeneth (Steinmusik) and Stefan Philipi (Ohrenkino). These unusual instruments and artworks make Klangwald a special place for sound art and musical discovery.
The Klangwald cultural center in Bazenheid hosts events throughout the year, with a particularly diverse program in spring and autumn. The program ranges from concerts and musical participation projects to dance events, singing circles and drumming circles, as well as talks and workshops. The focus is not only on listening: many events invite visitors to actively participate, discover music and create something together.
Klangwald also offers plenty of space to relax and linger. A large barbecue area with numerous outdoor seating places invites visitors to enjoy a meal together, exchange ideas and spend time in a relaxed atmosphere. Indoors and outdoors, the focus is on connection, community and a welcoming atmosphere.
The combination of a former carpentry workshop, unique instruments, art, sound and cultural events gives Klangwald Bazenheid its distinctive character. Its cozy living-room atmosphere sets Klangwald apart from traditional cultural venues: this is a place where you can arrive, explore, listen, try things out and connect with other people.
Whether you come for a concert, workshop, dance event, singing circle, drumming circle, sound art or simply to discover the unusual musical instruments, Klangwald is a place where culture is not only seen and heard, but experienced and actively shaped.
