The chapel in the Mäls district of Balzers has been a listed building since 1951 and is known for its history of origin and its baroque furnishings.

The Mariahilf Chapel is located in the district of Mäls, embedded in a small park and surrounded by a residential area. Its exact date of origin is unclear, but it was first mentioned in writing in 1690. According to a legend, it was erected as a thank you for the help of the Mother of God in the fight against a dragon near the Ellhorn - the dragon's head wind vane on the tower commemorates this. Architectural historical investigations point to a predecessor chapel from the early 16th century. The current appearance dates back to reconstructions in the 18th century, including the tower and the baroque altars. The chapel is a popular place for devotions and wedding celebrations and houses the oldest church bell in Liechtenstein.
