Hotel Appenzell

The Café-Hotel Appenzell has been run by the Sutter family for two generations. We carry out our work with joy and care, design our spaces with great attention to detail, and look after our guests with thoughtfulness. The well-being of our guests is very close to our hearts.

Our 16 hotel rooms are spacious, elegant, and equipped with modern comforts. Start your perfect vacation day with our varied breakfast buffet, either in the café or, during summer, on our sunny garden terrace. Well-fueled, you can head out for a hike through gentle hills or venture into the alpine landscapes of the Alpstein. Easy mountain bike trails also invite you to explore the surrounding area. In winter, a variety of sporting activities await you nearby. If you are interested in art and culture, several museums and the village of Appenzell itself offer a rich selection and invite you to linger. Watch our pastry chef as they prepare fine cakes and tarts, while enjoying the view of the historic Landsgemeinde square.

After a fulfilling vacation day, nothing stands in the way of a delicious dinner (half-board available upon request). You can choose your personal 3-course meal from our current seasonal and à la carte menu. We always ensure that ingredients are prepared with a regional and seasonal focus.

Arrival: Our hotel is located right in the center of Appenzell, on the historic Landsgemeinde square. New: we now offer our guests three electric charging stations on our private parking lot.
