Horstbach-|Kapelle Brülisau

Brother Klaus (September 25)

Completely hidden on the former hiking trail from the Brülisau multi-purpose building to Aulen-Forstseeli, on the forest slope along the Horstbach at a barbecue area.

Inside there are two panels with the prayers to Brother Klaus and Sister Maria Theresa. In the turret hangs a bell with the inscription: "Mary, help of Christians, be our mediator to God and through Brother Klaus and Mother Maria Theresa may the Lord protect us from all evil". It was cast in 1954 by the Rüetschi company in Aarau and donated by Albertina Streule. The chapel has eight seats.

History

Previously, there was a milk cellar here. After Benedikta Manser-Dörig fell ill with tuberculosis, she was able to cure the disease after a year and a half. As a thank you for the healing, her husband Councillor Manser-Dörig in Brülisau and the relatives from the milk cellar built the chapel in honour of Brother Klaus and Mother Maria Theresia Scherrer. It was consecrated on the feast of St. Brother Klaus, on 25 September 1952, by Pastor Daniel De Boni of Brülisau. In the meantime, the floor has been renewed and the interior of the chapel has been renovated in 2004.
