The historic half-timbered house is one of the most beautiful houses in the canton of Schaffhausen. In 1684 Tobias Holländer bought the "Hof zu Hova" and built his noble residence there, the famous Holländerhaus. Next to the house stands the barracks, where he housed his bodyguard according to his status. Tobias Holländer was the most influential man of his time in the Schaffhausen town council.
