Haffterhofbrunnen
The Haffterhof fountain in Weinfelden is one of the hidden historical treasures of the city and characterises the inner courtyard of the Haffterhaus.
Since 1839, three small fountains have been splashing here, fed by a spring on the Ottenberg. Joachim de Martin Haffter had the spring water piped into the Haffterhaus via a 157-metre-long tunnel. The water still flows today without pumps in the natural gradient and thus shows an impressive example of historical engineering that still works today.
