Grillplatz Gamplüterstein
The Steinwald barbecue area is beautifully situated on the southern slope of the Stein and offers a fantastic view of the Churfirsten and Alp Sellamatt, the Schwendisee and down to Unterwasser.
The fireplace is made of limestone and has a rectangular grate that can be adjusted in height in three steps. It is recommended to take a barbecue glove with you. For a fire, you have to bring your own wood and newspaper. You can sit on two benches and enjoy the view in peace.
From Wildhaus, you can take the gondola lift to the Gamplüt. From the mountain station, head northeast and walk to the main signpost. Follow the road downhill in the direction of Alpli and then always follow the signposts "Rundweg Gamplüt-Steinwald". This leads around the stone. After a short climb through the forest, you reach a hill with a stable. Immediately afterwards on the left side you reach the barbecue area. If you are travelling with a stroller, you can also follow the circular route clockwise and get to the barbecue area in only about 20 minutes with less altitude difference.
