Freibad Hauptwil
In the 15th century, the Bischofszell Pelagius Monastery created a series of five ponds near Hauptwil for fish farming. Today, these waters are protected and are of supra-regional and national importance - nevertheless, swimming is allowed there with restrictions.
The municipality operates a small bathing area in the Hauptwiler Weiher. However, dogs and swimming aids such as rubber boats, air mattresses, etc. are not allowed. Access to the pool is with a coin-operated machine and swimming is at your own risk, as there is no lifeguard.
