The proximity to Altenrhein Airport (St. Gallen), the border to Germany and Austria and a hiking paradise to be discovered right on the doorstep, make the house an insider tip in addition to the peace and intimacy.

Walzenhausen lies on the easternmost foothills of the Appenzell foreland and is divided into several districts. In the centre of the community is the railway station of the Rheineck-Walzenhausen mountain railway with a wonderful panoramic view over the entire Lake Constance, which lies about 300 metres below. In a south-easterly direction, Walzenhausen-Platz lies in a small valley basin that slopes down to St. Margrethen. The Grimmenstein monastery is located in this municipal area, which forms an exclave of the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden. From the hamlet of Wilen, a connecting road leads down to the Berneck and St. Gallen Rhine Valley to the south. One of only 43 three-cantonal corners in Switzerland can be found near Wilen: to the cantons of Appenzell Innerrhoden and St. Gallen.
