Farbbrunnen
The colour fountain in the centre of Weinfeld is a reminder of the historic "Alte Farb" dyeing works and its importance for local craftsmanship.
In the past, large vats were filled with linen fabrics and indigo in the adjacent dyehouse, which had to be carefully dyed blue. The well provided the necessary clean water for this. Since the fabrics had to dry for a long time after dyeing and the dyers often had to wait during this time, the saying "make blue" probably originated. In this way, the fountain combines history, craftsmanship and linguistic culture in a vivid way.
