Fählensee
Nestled between the steeply sloping rock flanks of the Widderalpstöcke and the Hundstein in the north, the Altmann in the west, as well as Saxerfirst and Kreuzberge in the south, the almost black water of the Fählensee enchants with a constantly changing kaleidoscope of mirror images.
Until well into summer, the shady slope is still stained with remnants of snow, while opposite, on the sunny slope, gentians, silverwort and alpine anemones are already blooming colorfully. A mountain hiking trail leads along the north bank, where fishermen try their luck. In midsummer, water rats even dare to make some daring attempts at swimming in water with a maximum temperature of 18° degrees. The most beautiful impressions and views over the mountain water can be enjoyed on the terrace of the Bollenwees mountain inn. In the popular excursion restaurant, you can not only enjoy a sensational view of the Fählensee, but also delicious-tasting Rösti dishes.
