Bernbrugg-Kapelle Brülisau

Holy Trinity (Sunday after Pentecost)

The well-proportioned chapel stands on the hiking trail from Brülisau to Aulen-Forstseeli near the Horstbach.

The small chapel with the dimensions of 2.45 x 3.15 m is of ethnological interest because of the interior decoration and the numerous devotional objects. It has a gable roof and is covered with new shields. In the middle of the gable is a simple iron cross. The chapel has four seats and is closed.

History

The chapel was built as a replacement for an older wayside shrine about 20 m away, which had to give way because of the road. It was built in 1880 from the remaining building blocks of the Brülisau parish church. The chapel was located on the Leichenweg from the upper Schwarzenegg or on the Senntumsweg to the Fähnernweiden. Both provided for regular offerings to preserve the chapel. In the middle of the 20th century, the shingle roof was replaced by a tiled roof. In 2003, an exterior renovation became necessary; In 2007, the administrator replaced the tiled roof with a shingle roof again.
