Alpengarten Hoher Kasten

The Hoher Kasten Alpine Garden Association cares for and maintains the approximately 5,000m2 Alpine Garden at 1794 m above sea level, thus promoting the native Alpine plants. In the rock tour - surefootedness and a head for heights are an advantage - guests experience the species-rich flora and fauna of the Alpstein in their original environment. With the construction of the Europe Circular Trail, further botanically interesting areas were opened up and made accessible to people with limited mobility and families with prams. The alpine plants are signposted during the flowering season. In addition, the 15 adventure stations, which are distributed throughout the Alpine Garden, provide additional amazing insights into alpine nature.

Free guided tours on the special features of the alpine flora and fauna are offered every Wednesday at 2 p.m. from mid-June to mid-August. The meeting point is at the main exit on the ground floor of the mountain inn on the Hoher Kasten. Group tours take place by appointment. The Alpine Garden Hoher Kasten association wants to sensitize guests to the alpine habitat in this way.
