Adolf-Dietrich-Haus

Adolf Dietrich, one of the most important painters of the 20th century, lived in Berlingen. His birthplace, work and home is open to the public.
The Thurgau artist was one of the main representatives of naïve painting. The quality of his painting lies on the one hand in the distinctive gift of observation and differentiation, on the other hand in the intuitive sense of color. Berlingen is home to the old birthplace, work and residence of Adolf Dietrich, which is open to interested visitors. Here the painter spent his whole life. The painting room on the first floor was preserved after his death, an unfinished painting still lies there. On the ground floor there is a documentary about the life and work of the artist as well as a small museum shop. The original paintings by Adolf Dietrich are exhibited in the Kunstmuseum Thurgau in the Carthusian monastery of Ittingen in Warth.
