The Aarberg and Frauenfeld plants have been processing beets into sugar and valuable by-products for over a hundred years. The entire production chain for the production of sugar is designed according to the criteria of the greatest possible sustainability.
How is sugar formed? How many beets are processed into sugar in Frauenfeld? How long does it take for beet to turn into sugar? During a tour of the plant during beet processing, these questions and many more will be answered.
Farm tours are carried out during the harvest season from mid-October to early December.
NEW:
Every Wednesday afternoon at 2.15 p.m., the sugar factory offers public guided tours. These are aimed at individuals as well as children aged 10 and over accompanied by an adult (max. 3 children/adults)
Information and registration via www.schweizerzucker.ch – Company – Factory Tours. The tours cost 10 francs for adults and 5 francs for children.
