The ancient cult site on the Basegglakammes, known as Kirchlichopf, is characterized by numerous stone figures. These stone objects, some prehistoric, invite you to discover and experience the special energies.
Until the 20th century, the ancient sacred site on the rounded hill of the Baseggla ridge, also known as "Kirchlichopf", was still in use. The site is marked by numerous stone cairns of varying sizes. Look for the largest stone formations—they are believed to date back to prehistoric times. Take a rest here, absorb the prevailing vibrations, and feel the unique energy of this sacred place! Some of the stone towers have collapsed—rebuild one of them! In doing so, you’ll deepen your connection with this powerful site, which was Christianized in 1717 by the placement of three crosses, and later referred to as "By the Three Crosses" or "Kirchlichopf". The Christian reinterpretation of the site and the subsequent pilgrimages attest to its pre-Christian significance, still visible in the multitude of cairns. In Celtic and pre-Celtic times, visitors to a sanctuary would bring a stone and place it at the holy site to build towers or walls. The more important and frequently visited the site, the more stone structures it would accumulate.
