Old town hall Schwänberg - guided tour, museum, event venue

Explore the oldest settlement on record in the Appenzellerland.

This beautifully situated village is the oldest settlement in the Appenzellerland mentioned in any records. Discover historical buildings from six centuries and learn more about the old town hall on a walking tour of the village. The grand timber-framed building in a beautiful location in the idyllic Schwänberg settlement in Herisau was built between 1627 and 1630 and houses a historical museum. In addition, the old town hall is available as a unique venue for your special occasion.

We can organise a guided tour of the town hall and Schwänberg village.
On request, we can also serve an aperitif in this historic ambience.
