«Obere Stube» House of Culture
The Kulturhaus is a place to linger, meet people and enjoy cultural diversity.
The Kulturhaus Obere Stube is a lively and open exhibition and meeting place for national and international art and culture. The ensemble of buildings, formerly used as the guild house ‘Zur Rose’, houses historical exhibitions and contemporary national and international art. The two special exhibition rooms are regularly updated. Topics from classical modernism, design, regional culture and history, as well as performative and experimental art, find a new venue here. The large guild hall from the 15th century, where semi-permanent exhibitions are shown, and the wood-panelled guild room from 1681 are the historical highlights.
Floating stones
The inner courtyard is a surprise: Australian artist Jamie North has created a striking sculpture landscape here. A wall full of floating stones gives the courtyard structure and character. Art and nature are combined in a unique way. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the old town for a while, you will find a quiet spot here.
