Kesslerloch

The Kesslerloch cave is one of the most important sites of the late Ice Age in Europe and provides traces of settlements from the Upper Palaeolithic Age (Magdalenian civilisation, 14 000 – 12 000 B.C.). The site probably served the groups of hunters during the summer half year as a meeting place for the hunting season. The cave covers an area of just 200 m2 and is divided by a stone pillar.
