Heiden Festival 2025 - Unlimited musical experience
Folk and world music at its best! Plus dancing and a great atmosphere and attractions year after year. The “heiden festival” presents top-class folk and world music on the last weekend in May. On outdoor stages and in six concert venues - all in the village center of the picturesque Appenzell Biedermeier village of Heiden - bands from all over the world play, including well-known stars from Switzerland.
The “heiden festival” is constantly refining its folklore program with creative jazz and classical sounds as well as other exciting surprises. For the 2025 edition, for example, “Oesch's die Dritten”, four-time winners of the Prix Walo and proud holders of various other awards, have been engaged for the Friday. On Saturday afternoon, “Säntis Barock und Bismärklis” will present an interesting mix of French songs from the Baroque period and yodel music from the Appenzell region in the Protestant church. In the evening, “Thomas Gansch und Alpenglühn”, a supergroup of outstanding musicians from Austria, will perform in the Kursaal. The “Ueli Schmezer's MatterLive” band will bring the festival to a brilliant close on Sunday when they revive the songs of the legendary Swiss singer in the Lindensaal, which is likely to be packed to capacity.
