Chäserrugg Summit Restaurant

Where Taste Meets the Horizon – A Culinary Experience with Far-reaching Views

A Place of Peace and Pleasure
Perched atop the Chäserrugg – the easternmost of the seven Churfirsten peaks – the Summit Restaurant invites guests to indulge in culinary delights while enjoying a breathtaking panorama spanning six countries. Whether bathed in sunlight or shrouded in mystical fog, every visit promises memorable moments amidst the alpine landscape.

Architecture in Harmony with Nature
Designed by the renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron, the summit building blends seamlessly into its mountain surroundings. Built with untreated Swiss spruce and ash wood, the structure reflects a deep respect for local materials and craftsmanship. Expansive glass façades open up sweeping views, while the thoughtfully arranged interior offers both quiet retreats and inviting gathering spaces.

Framing Programmes for Unique Experiences
The high plateau of Rosenboden is perfect for leisurely walks. The panoramic circular trail reveals views of over 500 mountain peaks and the Walensee lake. Guided architecture tours are also available, offering insights into the concept and construction of the summit building.

Getting There – Easy and Accessible
Reaching Chäserrugg is both comfortable and straightforward. From the village of Unterwasser, a funicular railway takes you to Iltios, followed by an aerial cable car that brings you directly to the summit. Both cableways are wheelchair accessible, as is the summit building itself.
